Tuck Box Trail
This tour of the farm animals and buildings investigates the origins of the types of food to be found daily in the children’s lunch boxes. The demonstrator’s own lunch box is carried on the tour to discover how many items of food can be linked to their origins at the farm.
Links with Science Units 2A: Health and Growth, 3A: Teeth and Eating, History Unit 2: Houses and Homes, and the Children’s Food Bill.

Care of Animals
Children are involved in a discussion comparing the basic needs of animals and humans. Various aspects of animal care are considered using examples of small animals and farm animals, exploring their housing, feeding and welfare. Comparisons between wild and domestic animals are made.

Nursery Rhymes
A tour of the farm suitable for children who are learning their nursery rhymes. Areas, animals and objects on the farm are linked to relevant nursery rhymes where the rhyme is sung or recited on the spot. A list of rhymes used is sent with each booking.

A general tour of the Mansion House, Servants' Quarters, Museum or Farm can also be booked as a standalone activity or combined with your selection of demonstrations.
