Material Girls Exhibition County Museum, Shugborough

The exhibition uses a variety of objects from the County Museum Collection managed by Staffordshire Arts and Museum Service. A selection of items were also loaned from the Design Study Collection, part of Staffordshire University.
Costume and objects on display include
Pink cotton Day dress from Wheeldon Tailors Shop in Abbots Bromley
Cotton Summer dress
Wedding dress and bolero jacket made by the donor for her wedding in Crewe in 1956
Silk evening dress worn in the 1950s to the savoy and Dorchester in London.
Rayon Crepe evening dress

A selection of Melamine Cups and Saucers, Food Containers, egg cups and 2 pairs of shoes have been kindly loaned by Design Study Collection, Staffordshire University for the exhibition.
The exhibition is open 11am 5pm daily between 20 March and 29th October 2009.
