Annie Bailey - Millers Wife

Being the wife of the Master Miller at the Park Farm on the Shugborough Estate, I consider myself very fortunate to have found employment in the farmhouse, helping Mrs Wheelock in both her kitchen and dairy as the seasonal demands change.

I hope to continue working for as long as I can as this will allow me to keep an eye on my husband William.  I receive a wage for my labours, but I am not able to tell you how much, as this is collected by William.

It is most rewarding to see the foodstuff that we cook enjoyed by all, and to know that the cheeses I help to produce are to be found on His Lordship's table.
